I have been a health practitioner for many years.
I have a deep sense of trust that our bodies know how to heal and that I am along for the ride as an interested compassionate presence. I am particularly interested in listening to the story within the body’s tissues with gentleness and respect and treating with a minimum of interference. This has been my main motivation for developing the various palpation skills and tools over the years.
I like to look at each new person freshly and as an equal in the process of creating change. Bringing together their inherent resources, time and some skills that I have developed I believe healing is very possible.
I did my nursing training in Christchurch in 1982 and worked in hospitals in Sydney for a few years. I began my Acupuncture training in Sydney in 1986 at the NSW College of Natural Therapies and studied Shiatsu with Andre Gospidatchi In 1998 I completed my Masters in Acupuncture at the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Seattle Washington. In Seattle I studied Craniosacral Therapy with my teacher Gail Ptacek and completed over 500 hours of clinical training, based on the teachings of John Upledger.
In 1998 to 2003 I established a clinic in Seattle called Core-link Head and Back Centre and specialized in motor vehicle injury, head injury and back pain.
